NCAWA Membership Dues StructureMembership dues provide crucial organizational support for NCAWA's operations. The Board discusses information about NCAWA's operations at the Annual Meeting of the members, which is held during the annual conference. The proposed budget for the next fiscal year (calendar year) is submitted to members for approval at the Annual Meeting. PLEASE NOTE: All memberships run for the calendar year. For checks mailed to NCAWA, please expect a turnaround time of approximately two (2) weeks for payment processing. If you join or renew on or after October 14, 2022 (unless you join as a one-time Half-Year member or unless you renewed earlier through an automatically-generated invoice you received), then your membership will be good through 2023 (i.e. will not expire until December 31, 2023). *Due to technical restrictions, if you join or renew during the time period between October 14, 2022 and December 31, 2022 and were not a member in 2022, then it is likely that the expiration date on your invoice will say 12/31/2022. Notwithstanding when you pay said invoice, NCAWA must and will manually update your profile after your dues are processed to reflect a membership expiration date of 12/31/2023. You may receive automatically-generated emails telling you that your NCAWA membership has lapsed as of 12/31/2022 and/or that you have a new/open invoice for 2023 NCAWA membership dues. Please do not worry about the emails or new/open invoice! Once your profile is updated with the 2023 expiration date, the new/open invoice should be voided when the system resets and you should not receive another membership dues invoice until it is time to renew for 2024. Lastly, you may receive previously-scheduled membership renewal emails from our website. Please disregard such emails if your membership is up-to-date.Enhanced Levels of Membership (*These include voluntary donation amounts above and beyond regular membership levels) Patron - $1000 Regular Levels of Membership Over 3 years of practice - $145 Affiliate Member (any person interested in furthering the goals of NCAWA who does not qualify as a Regular, Student, or Sustaining Member as set forth in our bylaws) - $70 Half-Year Membership (For new/first time NCAWA members only; July - Dec. of current membership year) - $75 Firm Memberships - Please contact [email protected] for more information. Chapter Membership Upon joining NCAWA, one may join one of our seven (7) active local chapters. Chapter membership is free except for the chapters below that have a supplemental membership fee as indicated. Please note: chapter membership is not possible without first/also being a member of NCAWA. *Although PTWA chapter membership is free for law students, due to technical restrictions NCAWA must manually adjust invoices to reflect the same. As such, law students wishing to join PTWA should select "Invoice me" when presented with payment options and then contact NCAWA to adjust the invoice prior to any necessary payment. Otherwise, law students will be required to pay the total due by credit card, including the $25 PTWA chapter membership fee, and then will need to contact NCAWA to coordinate any reimbursement owed.
If you have any questions, please contact NCAWA at (704) 940-1707 or via email at [email protected]. Disclaimer: We are required to notify you that unless stated otherwise on our website, membership application, or marketing materials, any dues paid in 2022 should be reduced by 45% as non-deductible lobbying expenses for tax purposes. As we are a 501(c)(6) organization, NCAWA dues are also not deductible as a charitable donation. Please check with your tax advisor regarding any questions you may have about your contributions. Look for updated disclosures each January. |
