Category: Nominating and Public Service Awards Committee

The Pound Institute is seeking nominations for its 2019 Appellate Advocacy Award.

In support of the Pound Institute’s mission to support access to civil justice and the right to trial by jury, Pound’s Trustees established the Institute’s Appellate Advocacy Award to recognize excellence in appellate advocacy in America. The Award is given to one or more attorneys who have been instrumental in securing a final appellate court decision with significant impact on the right to trial by jury, public health and safety, consumer rights, civil rights, access to justice in civil cases, or other issues relevant to the work of the Pound Institute.

Criteria, nominating form and information about prior winners are at http://poundinstitute.org/content/appellate-advocacy-award.

The deadline to receive nominations, including the nomination form and all required supporting documentation, is April 5, 2019. Anyone may nominate a lawyer to receive the award. The winner is selected by an independent committee. The Award will be presented at the Pound Fellows Reception on Sunday, July 28, 2019 in San Diego, California.

Note: Re-nominations may be made via a letter requesting such and including any updated information, provided that the decision referenced in the original nomination was issued within 3 years of the submission deadline.
